Push Notifications, how they work and how to enable

Understanding Push Notifications

Push notifications are a great way to stay updated on new task alerts and messages, even when you don't have the Myriad app open. Here’s how they work on different devices. Allowing Push notifications can be done from within the user profile by enabling the options you would like to receive Push Notifications for.

On Android Devices

Setup is automatic! If you've opted-in to push notifications from your Myriad profile and tapped "Allow" when your browser asked for permission, you're all set. You will receive notifications just like a native app.

On Apple Devices (iPhone/iPad)

Due to Apple's platform rules, receiving web push notifications requires one extra step: You must add Myriad to your Home Screen.

Step 1: Add to Home Screen

  1. Open Myriad in your Safari browser.
  2. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Confirm by tapping "Add".

Step 2: Launch from Home Screen & Allow

  1. Find the new Myriad icon on your phone's home screen and open it.
  2. The app will now ask for permission to send notifications. Tap "Allow".
  3. Make sure you are opted into receiving Push Notifications from withing the user profile

Once you complete these two steps, you will start receiving push notifications on your iOS device. You only need to do this once.
