What to do if you receive an unfair or retaliatory rating
Myriad strives to maintain a fair and trustworthy platform for everyone. While the vast majority of interactions end in positive ratings, we understand that sometimes disagreements happen, and you may receive a rating you believe is completely unfair, inaccurate, or retaliatory.
When should you dispute a rating?
You should only dispute a rating if you have clear evidence that it violates our community guidelines. Examples include:
- Retaliation: The other party gave you a bad rating simply because you refused to do something outside the scope of the original task agreement.
- Extortion: The other party threatened to give a bad rating unless you offered a discount or refund.
- Factually Inaccurate: The review contains verifiably false statements that contradict the in-app chat history.
Note: Disagreements over subjective work quality are generally not removable unless they violate our abuse policies.
How to file a Rating Dispute
If you believe a rating on your profile meets the criteria above, you can formally dispute it through the specific task.
- Navigate to your Dashboard.
- Find the task associated with the unfair rating under your Completed Tasks history.
- Click to open the Task Details page.
- Click the "Report an Issue" button (often marked with a flag icon).
- In the dispute menu, select "Unfair or retaliatory rating" as the reason.
- Provide a clear, detailed, and neutral explanation of why the rating is unfair, referencing any relevant messages in the chat history.
What happens next?
Once submitted, the Myriad administration team will review the dispute ticket. We will read the chat history between both parties and review any photos or deliverables.
If we determine the rating violates our community guidelines, we will permanently remove it from your profile and it will no longer affect your overall star rating. If the other user is found to be abusing the review system, they may face account suspension.
Please allow 2-3 business days for our team to review your request.
